hair straighten

Many naturals are worried they will damage their curls when using heat. If done in moderation and with the correct items, you will be able to straighten your hair without damaging it. Although it takes me a while to straighten mine, the end result is worth it. Here is how I do it:

Wash:

  1. I detangle my hair thoroughly then twist 6 sections
    • I personally use Loreal Smooth Intense Line when straightening. It worked instantly with reducing frizz and decreasing blow dry time
  2. I shampooed with the Loreal Smooth Intense Shampoo to remove any type of build up
    • The hair is still in its sections
  3. I conditioned with Loreal Smooth Intense Conditioner to balance the shampoo

Condition:

  1. Now, I towel dry my hair with a microfiber towel
  2. Add Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol to the hair strands only
    1. I completely saturate them, adding the deep conditioner by small sections just to ensure it gets on every strand
  3. Let it sit with low heat under my soft-bonnet dryer for 30 minutes to an hour
  4. Rinse the cholesterol completely
    1. As I rinse my hair I am finger detangling

Dry:

  1. I add the Loreal Smooth Intense Cream unto individual sections right before blow drying them with my Conair blow dryer
    1. At this point comb through the hair again to make sure the cream is spread evenly
  2. As I am blow drying it I am pulling my hair down to dry it as straight as possible

    Straighten:

  1. I use the Conair tourmaline flat iron. It’s thin enough to iron the edges perfectly
  2. I use a smaller tooth comb to comb one more time, then I use the flat iron to follow after the comb
