Saving more than you spend = success when being frugal.

For the past 6 months I have been grocery shopping on the last Saturday of the month. This may sound crazy, but I do this to save money. The exception is to buy produce on a weekly basis.
With my monthly budget of $50, I have to be cautious of what I buy. For the month of January I spent $59, which hurt me on the inside.
Since sale cycles at Fresh Grocer seems to run about every 4-5 weeks, I have been fortunate to buy chicken drumsticks and thighs for only 88 cents per pound. I usually purchase 2-3 packs at this price. Buying grocery items while they are on sale allows me to stay within budget. The store’s website has digital coupons that only takes a few minutes to put on my grocery card. After shopping, I go to Savingstar and checkout51 to upload my receipt to get cashback.
